Philosophy

Ultimately, our belief is that we are telling a story.  We believe that it is our job to listen to our clients describe their needs, desires, budget requirements and site specific information, and then shape and mold those ideals into a working set of drawings that effectively communicates that information to the builders, sub-contractors, vendors and material suppliers accurately.  This will convey our client’s wishes to the people working on their home so they can accurately and efficiently convert our client's dream into a reality.  We envision ourselves as interpreter's between the client who knows what they want and the builder/sub-contractor who is trying to construct their home within a budget and profitability that works for all parties involved.  We have have over 20 years of construction experience and have physically preformed most tasks on a construction site.  Therefore we can integrate our experience with our structural knowledge and ability to visualize a clients dream, enabling us to create a working set of drawings that conveys the information in a cost effective way that is also architecturally beautiful.  In addition to working closely with our clients, I also understand how to value engineer a project.  We design not only in a way as to bring out the best in the project but also to maximize the square footage for the dollar spent and increase the livability and life span of the home.  My underlying concept is if I ever visit a job site and a crew of workers is scratching their heads as to how to construct an element of the design . . . well I did not accurately do my job!  I treat every job as if I am designing it for my own mother.  I would NEVER want disappoint her, so I guarantee, that I will always work my very best to impress you.  Furthermore as a Certified Green Professional and a Certified Age in Place Specialist we view the home considering it's entire life cycle and that of it's occupants.  We design with wider hallways, wider doorways, open floor plans with easy access to each room, use of blocking behind showers and tubs (this is material that is thrown away anyway so why not put it in the home in case you need it in the future), minimal waste with pre-planning and time saving dimensioning, room and wall layout.  We design to give you the most for the budget and to maximize the livability of the home.
